Yuming Xiao is a beamline scientist at HPCAT of Geophysical Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. from Department of Applied Science at University of California, Davis in 2007. His thesis was focused on studying metal clusters in metalloproteins (nitrogenase and hydrogenase) with synchrotron spectroscopes (EXAFS, NFS, NRVS, XES). At HPCAT, Yuming is interested in studying electronic and magnetic properties of materials under pressure using synchrotron spectroscopes.
